Today is June 7th National Doughnut Day #DoughnutDay and Charlie and I didn’t have the opportunity to celebrate because we were going out to lunch with my best friend and Charlie was bringing his best friend Bradley. Then I thought we would get Donuts in the morning but that doesn’t seem like that is going to happen either. The next time David is off I plan on purchasing Donuts for Charlie and I. In 1938, National Donut Day was established as a way to honor the members of the Salvation Army that came to the aid of soldiers during World War I. Nowadays, National Donut Day is widely celebrated on the first Friday of June. Many Donut shops are known to give them out for free, giving a good reason to take some time out of the day to enjoy a Donut.
