June 25 National Strawberry Parfait Day #NationalStrawberryParfaitDay

June 25 National Strawberry Parfait Day #NationalStrawberryParfaitDay and David worked our car from Sunup to Sundown last night and it still didn’t work. We had to cancel Charlie’s trip to Oklahoma to play basketball which stinks. David came in last night completely exhausted because he had been working a lot of doubles so we would be able to go on the trip but it wasn’t the LORDS will.

I was looking up Holidays this morning I found out June 25th is National Strawberry Parfait Day #NationalStrawberryParfaitDay. David and his dad both love Strawberries if I can get to the Grocery Store this morning I’m going to make both of them a Strawberry Parfait. Would you like one? Ot would you like to go to the grocery store with me and you can make Strawberry Parfaits for your family.

National Strawberry Parfait Day on June 25th gives us an excuse to enjoy as many Strawberry Parfait as you would like. Strawberry Parfait is a divine dessert that not only tastes heavenly but also looks absolutely beautiful in its bright red and white colors. The dessert’s name Strawberry Parfait evokes images of quiet and cozy cafes in France as the name ‘parfait’ part of the name means ‘perfect’ in French, and we couldn’t agree more.

Traditionally, Strawberry Parfait is made with Strawberries and Ice Cream, or Whipped Cream, or Custard and Nuts. Many versions of the Parfait include a dash of Liquor and/or Chocolate Syrup. While June 25th honors Strawberry Parfait, there are many other different types of Parfait, with one being on the savory side. For instance, in England, Parfait is the name of a smooth <eat paste made with Chicken or Duck Liver mixed with strong Alcohol.

Because Strawberries are in season during June, it only makes sense that National Strawberry Parfait Day is celebrated in June when fresh Strawberries are available in abundance. Strawberry Parfait originated from France in the late 1800s. The oldest recipe for a Strawberry Parfait dates back to 1892.

The French version of Parfait consisted of Custard made from Sugar, Eggs, Cream, and Syrup. All these ingredients are boiled and cooked to a thick consistency. Initially, the Parfait was eaten as is but, later on, Fruit was added to the recipe to counter the rich and creamy texture. Many people enjoyed Strawberries in Parfait as the sweet and tangy flavor and aroma of the Fruit complemented the Parfait. Soon, globalization took the recipe to other parts of the world and, today, the Parfait is a much-loved dessert.

The U.S. version of the Parfait involves putting a dash of Liquor or Chocolate into the recipe. Healthier versions of the Parfait recipe call for the substitution of Whipping Cream and Ice Cream with Yogurt instead. Anyone can make there own Strawberry Parfait at home by collecting fresh Strawberries from your local farms or purchasing Strawberries at your Farmers Market of the Grocery Store. Combine all the ingredients in a container and stick the dish in the freezer. Make sure to stir your mixture infrequently in order to get that perfect Parfait texture. Because Parfait’s are so popular, special tall glasses were invented for serving Parfaits so that they are also a visual treat.
