Looks like I need to run to the Grocery Store to pick up Jello for Charlie and I and before you ask David also likes Jello but he prefers Pudding and David is working late this evening. David will not be home to celebrate July 12th which is National Eat Your Jello Day #EatYourJelloDay.
Do you like Jello? If so which flavor is your favorite and I will pick up the Jello and we can visit and have a snack together. Charlie likes Lemon and Cherry and my favorite is Grape which can be hard to find sometimes. When we can’t find it I end up getting Orange or Cherry and sometimes Lemon which David likes.
Did you know Jell-O was trademarked in New York in 1897, but Jello is a classic dessert we all know and love! The best part of Jello is that it comes in a variety of flavors and can be combined with many ingredients for a simple, delicious treat. Thanks to some very crafty Chefs, we can also form Jell-O into fun shapes. Let’s get ready to celebrate July 12th by eating Jell-O any way you like it!
NATIONAL EAT YOUR JELLO DAY ACTIVITIES
- Make your own Jell-O and you can find Jell-O packets in almost any grocery store. Follow the instructions on the container and you’re good to go! If you’re feeling adventurous, you can find Gelatin in some stores and try making Jello from scratch!
- If you don’t feel like making your own Jell-O for NATIONAL EAT YOUR JELLO DAY you’ll most likely find Jello as a desert in some restaurants, or you can find Jello ready-made in most stores. You may also have some leftover Jell-O from a party or gathering, so you can finish whatever you have.
- Did you know you can use Jell-O for other things besides eating. It’s possible to make a Jell-O-powered fuel cell battery, homemade Play-Doh, and even lip-gloss. With the right tutorial, the possibilities are endless!
WHY PEOPLE LOVE NATIONAL EAT YOUR JELLO DAY
- Jell-O can be made in almost any flavor, color, and shape. You can add fruits, nuts, and even alcohol (as long as you’re of legal age) and you can always make Jell-O in a way that makes everyone happy.
- Gelatin is the ingredient that gives Jell-O its texture. Since Gelatin comes from animals, it’s usually high in proteins. Gelatin also contains collagen, which is great for your skin, hair, and bones. Jello is low in calories.
- It’s rare to be able to eat something in your favorite color or that has such a cool texture. You can have fun while making Jell-O by using fun containers and choosing a color and flavor you like.
Thank you,
Glenda, Charlie and Daviid Cates
