When Charlie was little we collected Monster Trucks and books on cars and trucks. Even though I didn’t know about John Cena children’s book Elbow Grease back then. When I was in Walmart I found this new book and I picked up a copy for my nephew Jason.
I laid Elbow Grease on my desk. Charlie walked in and saw Elbow Grease and Charlie picked the book up and begin to read the story. Once he finished he read the story to David.
Charlie thanked me for Elbow Grease. I didn’t have the heart to tell Charlie Elbow Grease was for Jason. Because if a book captures Charlie attention and he will read books I will always let Charlie keep the books.
Charlie and I love the movies John Cena is in and we’ve followed his Wrestling career since Charlie was 2. Showing Charlie his hero’s written a children’s book was perfect because this showed Charlie you can do anything you put your mind to.
I like that Elbow Grease teaches us perseverance. We should believe in ourselves. Charlie struggles with these because from being BULLIED. I’m trying to change that mindset and through Elbow Grease I know Charlie can and will begin to believe in himself.
