Life is funny and again the LORD knew what he was doing way before I did. Right before Christmas David said he would like to get jigsaw puzzles to work on at night. As one of David Christmas gifts I purchased 2 puzzles for David. Then his mother called and let me know she was cleaning out her playroom and we could have all of her jigsaw puzzles and no, she didn’t know David was wanting some.
It was the LORDs way of preparing my family for January 29th: National Puzzle Day #nationalpuzzleday. Which will allow us to get my family off the electronics and to work with Charlie on his focus which will help with his ADD from what the counselor said in the past. If you enjoy doing puzzles your welcome to come over and do one with us.
NATIONAL PUZZLE DAY HISTORY
National Puzzle Day was created in 2002, by Jodi Jill as a way to share her enjoyment of puzzles. Jodi Jill is a syndicated newspaper puzzle maker and professional quiz maker, Jodi Jill developed classroom lesson plans especially for the observance and the popularity has grown year after year. I can’t wait to see if we can find some of her lessons to use in our homeschool
National Puzzle Day, is the perfect day to do a little brain exercise. Whether it’s a crossword, jigsaw, or Sudoku, puzzles engage our brain in more ways than one. Scientists have discovered that when we work on a jigsaw puzzle, we utilize both sides of the brain, improving memory, cognitive function and problem solving skills in the process. By utilizing puzzles, people can stimulate the brain improve a number of skills.
NATIONAL PUZZLE DAY ACTIVITIES
- National Puzzle Day is time to spend putting together a jigsaw puzzle. Remember putting together jigsaw puzzles is more fun with a friend or two.
- If you do not have a jigsaw puzzle on hand then you could complete a Sudoku or crossword puzzle.
