If your like me we love our spouses and a lot of the time we take advantage of them and w never tell them thank you for all they do for us. Which is why I was excited to find out January 26th is National Souse Day. We shouldn’t depend on a holiday to show apperception to our husbands we should show them every day. But since most of us don’t do that I would like to ask you to celebrate National Spouse Day with us.
National Spouse Day is unknown, but one would assume a married person came up with the holiday. People say National Spouse Day originated from the establishment of Military Spouses Day which was created in 1984. The Holiday started becoming popular around the millennium. National Spouse Day is celebrated as a national holiday on January 26 officially in the USA and UK, but Countries celebrate National Spouse Day as well.
National Spouse Day comes from the idea of showing thanks to our significant other. Did you know workplaces even encourage couples to go on leave to celebrate National Spouses Day and spend the day with their spouses.
National Spouse Day was created for giving time rather than gifts and celebrating our spouse. Couples are encouraged to spend alone time and to reflect on their relationships. Scientific research has shown that twenty minutes of holding hands with your partner or cuddling even, can release hormones that leaves you happier and feeling good which relieves stress and makes you feel closer to one another.
National Spouse Day has become well known for igniting many media sources to survey couples’ behaviors and relationships and has managed to find facts including two million people get married every year in the U.S alone. 17% of those people have previously been married.
Many couples have expressed feeling as though life can get too busy, and National Spouse Day is key to revitalizing relationships at the start of the New Year. Others feel that your spouse should be celebrated everyday, but that an official day to commemorate your significant other is also seen as an honor.
