January 11th is National Hot Toddy Day #HotToddyDay. In Texas we get cold Weather but not much #Snow but we was blessed the other day with enough Snow for Charlie and I to play on. Once we finished playing David made us a cup of Hot Chocolate.
David wanted Apple Cider but all the stores around us was sold out. I wish I had sent David to the Liquior store for a bottle of Whiskey then I could have made a Hot Toddy for David and we would have been able to celebrate National Hot Toddy Day.
Since its the weekend and its still cold outside I think I will ask David to stop and pick up a bottle of Tequila and also Whiskey then I can make him a Hot Toddy this evening. I will have a Screwdriver. Would you like to join us for a drink or two?
Now I have a question for you. Do you crave festive Cocktails? Or have you been outside and you need to be warmed up? Then you’ll want to celebrate National Hot Toddy Day on January 11th. Hot Toddy are best enjoyed by the fire preferably with Snow falling outside. - Hot Scotch Toddy has us switch out the traditional Liquors with Scotch, be warned this drink isn’t for the weak its strong!
- Hot Apple Toddy mx the Alcohol of your choice with Apple Cider and a lot of people would recommend Whiskey. I know David would like that because he could have a swig of Whiskey at night when not having a Hot Toddy.
- Hot Ginger Toddy– ask us to mix the typical ingredients with Ginger-flavored liquor like Domane de Canton.
- Hot Cinnamon Apple Toddy sounds cozy doesn’t it? Now, lets make this beverage by combing Cinnamon Schnapps with Hot Apple Cider and then lets cuddle up and watch a movie or two.
- Hot Buttered Toddy is one of the most lavish versions of the Hot Toddy, combing the usual ingredients with a few tablespoons of Butter making this Hot Toddy smooth.
Why People Love National Hot Toddy Day
A Hot Toddy can be festive when it includes Cinnamon and dark Liquor making the beverage sound like the makings of a Midwinter tradition.
Winter brings all kinds of dark and chilly factors into our life but thankfully, Hot Toddies are here to fend chilly days off.

Recipe for Hot Toddys
INGREDIENTS
1.5 oz. Crown Royal Fine De Luxe
1 tsp fine grain sugar
2 small clove(s)
1.5 oz. boiling water
INSTRUCTIONS
Glassware: Mug
Add 1-2 oz (or more, if desired) boiling water and stir
Add Crown Royal, fine grain sugar, and cloves in old-fashioned glass or mug
