It’s Contagious!™, an infectiously fun, family-oriented, pandemic-inspired card game, has launched on Kickstarter, and was created by a family after their scary experience with COVID-19 – the family-friendly card game reflects on 2020 events with light-hearted humor, and is aimed as a way to help families bond during prolonged times of staying inside.
- The game was created in a dark period by the Pickett family – Lola, Tigre, and their kids, during the early months of COVID-19 quarantine in San Diego, California, just before Tigre’s parents came down with the mysterious virus.
- Creating the unique card game helped the family cope with the experience, stay connected and limit their kids’ screen time
- Vibrant game art reflects a timeline of pandemic and lockdown life – turning a dark experience into lighthearted fun, and helping children and parents bond and make sense of 2020 events
- Featuring ‘Paired Play’ (a way of combining matching cards to make a value that beats the card(s) in play (such as two 2’s = 4 or three 5’s = 15)
- And ‘Power Cards’ – “infectiously fun twists of fate,” using all-too-familiar pandemic terms in playful ways, to shift gameplay and keep players engaged.
