My family was sent tickets to visit ICR Discovery Center for Science & Earth History and the Planetarium in exchange for this review.
ICR Discovery Center for Science & Earth History allows us to discover how Science confirms creation. Inside the building is a Planetarium, interactive exhibits, and they host Educational events .Charlie and I plan on going to throughout the year.
ICR Discovery Center for Science & Earth History for our family this was a hidden gem I wouldn’t have knew about if I hadn’t see it online on Facebook when they were promoting there Homeschool Days. I thought the Exhibit would be full and make Charlie uncomfortable but it wasn’t.
We walked inside to get our tickets. My family was surprised we were told we had tickets to watch a movie .I didn’t know there was a Planetarium. We were given our tickets to see Secret Ocean which excited Charlie who loves learning about the Oceans and Lakes in our Homeschool Classes.
In the movie we were able to discover the beauty and diversity of creatures found in God’s created Oceans. We explored underwater life near the Bahamas, Fiji, and Bimini. The movie is shown once each odd hour throughout the day beginning at 11:10 with the last showing at 3:10.
The movie runs for 42 minutes but I must tell you it felt like we just sat down and then the movie was over. But we learned so much that Charlie hasn’t stopped talking about what he say and what he wants to look up. Allowing Charlie to teach himself Science this week.
Once we left the Planetarium we walked into the Exhibit Hall and saw different men. Charlie and I just thought they were pictures until one of the Attendants walked up. Then the pictures began talking which I loved because this captured Charlie’s attention more than just reading signs.
The room even looked like a Fireplace with a Fireplace if I could have I would have pulled up a chair and stayed a while. As I walked through the room Charlie and I discusses the men’s role in History. Charlie let me know which ones he wants to study.
We walked on and Charlie had fun checking out the Interactive attractions and even stumbled upon another movie we sat down to watch. I loved how the Bible is used throughout the attractions and we learned new Bible Versus we can study in our Homeschool Bible Class.
We took a restroom break and found a Snack Stand and I purchased a bag of Chips for Charlie while we rested a bit before heading back inside to Noah’s Ark Exhibit which blew Charlie away. He loved seeing the Ark and the Animals in there cabins. I loved seeing and learning about the different rooms they had.
We went on and Charlie found the Dinosaurs and I didn’t think I would ever get Charlie away from this part of the Exhibit. Charlie even found animals he can’t wait to study in school this year. Once we got home Charlie begin looking up Dinosaurs and drawing them for Art Class.
This was so nice to see because Charlie used to love to draw but someone said he did terrible at it and he hadn’t drawn since that incident but thanks to ICR Discovery Center for Science & Earth History Charlie has found his love of Drawing again. Thank the LORD.
Inside is the Discovery Store and I liked knowing we can return to shop her and not have to purchase tickets to the Exhibits as I found a lot of Science kits I would like to purchase for Charlie for Christmas. As well as books for our Science Class.
