I was able to make Charlie’s dream come true

Events

I was able to make Charlie’s dreams come true. You may ask me how I was able to do that and let me tell you that it wasn’t my mother in law or me but God. One night my mother in law mentioned we needed to get some tickets to a wrestling match so I could take Charlie.

I let Sherry know Charlie would enjoy attending a match but I didn’t know how to find a place that hosted Wrestling Matches in Dallas/ Fort Worth. Although God was listening and a post on Facebook appeared in my feed, talking about Wrestling matches. I reached out to the owner of  VIP Wrestling.

I asked them where they were located and found out they owned a wrestling school at the end of my street. I talked to the owner. I set up a meeting to bring Charlie out to the school to meet him and to see his building. I think I was more excited than David and Charlie because I didn’t want Charlie to be disappointed.

Lamont Williams allowed Charlie to check out the Wrestling rings as he did Lamont, and I talked. Lamont mentioned wanting to host wrestling in this area. I said I worked with the American Legion Post #655 off Carson.

I let Lamont know the American Legion might be interested. Lamont and I set up an appointment to meet Don Kobe at the American Legion Post #655 and talked to them about hosting a wrestling match there. Low and behold they approved it, and now the first match will be May 6th.

Last night Lamont brought the Wrestlers out to the American Legion Post  who hosted a Free #wrestlemania watching party. The event was a lot more interesting than I thought it would be.

Charlie made some new friends, and he was able to meet some wrestlers up close as well as discuss Wrestling with them. Charlie was allowed to try on a championship belt that Lamont had won the past week.

All I can say is thank you not only to God but also to American Legion Post #655 and Lamont Williams from VIP Wrestling as they all made one little boy’s dreams come true. As a mom, I can never thank them enough for what they did for Charlie last night.

Thank you,

Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
