As much as I hate to say it my dad isn’t here and even though father’s are supposed to be awesome growing up my dad wasn’t. I was treated more like a step-child than my parents child. When I married David I found out what a Dad was and how children should be treated.
Although after I married David my dad did become better at being a dad and I believe a lot of that was losing my mom. As a grandfather he was great. As for David his other children from his first marriage might not say he was a good dad but that isn’t true he did all he could do but his ex-wife hindered his relationship with those children,
With Charlie David is the best dad ever and also with Charlie’s friends and even my Nieces and nephews David has gone above and beyond to become a role model for them. I sat down this morning to browse through I Love Dad which reminded me not only of David but his dad and my dad as well.
I couldn’t wait to share the book with Charlie to help prepare him for fatherhood if he ever has children. My favorite chapter was “teaching by example” because this is how I try and live my life. How about you? Do you lead by example?
I loved finding out the Author had included quotes from people like Margret Truman and S.E.A. L which if we had still been #Homeschooling full time I would have had Charlie study the people in the book to learn more about them.
