I would like to share a children’s book that deals with a new baby in the house. The new children’s book is called I Can’t Wait to Love You Forever: A Big Brother Book by Patricia Eckerman Amba. Once again God has been listening to what is happening in my family. My mother in law’s neighbor is having her second baby soon and her Baby Shower is this weekend. But their son isn’t wanting to have anything to do with the new baby and the parents weren’t sure how to handle things with the older brother.
I plan on putting together a Gift Basket full of toys and things the older brother can do with the new baby when he arrives as well as my copy of I Can’t Wait To Love You Forever as a family then they can discuss his fears and concerns. As well as ways he can help his mom prepare for the new baby. Showing him that he might not be the baby any more but the big brother and that is a very important role in the little brother’s life.
