Disclosure: I received a copy of Good Friends (Hugo the Happy Starfish – Island Adventures – Educational Children’s Book Collection 10) in exchange for a review.
Charlie’s best friend Trey is coming to spend Valentines Day weekend with us. So all of my plans for our family have gone out the door. But I will still be reading Valentine books to Charlie before Trey arrives. As well as making special snacks for Charlie and I. As well as watching Valentines Movies if I can find some Charlie would enjoy.
One of the books I plan on sharing with Charlie is another of the Hugo The Starfish. These books are part of of a series. I will be sharing Hugo The Starfish and Good Friends .
Trey Charlies friend is visiting this morning and I thought Hugo The Starfish and Good Friends would be perfect to read with them. Then we can discuss this new novel together.
Trey and Charlie are both 6 and in Kindergarten and I will be working with them on reading and counting as well as writing. Charlie, Trey and I can create Valentines Cards to hand out to our friends and family. As well as take some up to the American Legion to give to the Veterans.
By creating Valentines Day Cards and handing them out will keep Charlie and Trey off Charlies game system. If its warm we can even take the art supplies down to the park and when they aren’t drawing they can run and play which will be nice as it will run some of the energy off before we get back home and sit down to watch movies.
With two boys of the same age sometimes they do not like to share or they do not get along as well as they should for a number of reasons. Especially if one or both of them become tired and need a nap. Or if there playing and one of them decides they would like to have what the other one has.
Or they just get tired of being together or bored with each other. Hugo The Starfish and Good Friends is the perfect book to pull out and read to them because the book talks about the importance of appreciation, patience, tolerance and optimism among other things.
I can tell you with Charlie being his mom that patience isn’t something Charlie has much of. if you want to know the truth I don’t have much patience either. Having Hugo The Starfish and Good Friends will allow me and Charlie to think about our actions and change the way we do things.
Another characteristic I like Hugo The Starfish and Good Friends promotes appreciation which Charlie needs to work on. As I have seen Charlie take people for granted. Especially his dad David. Although Charlie isn’t to nice to me either and if truth be none I am not as nice as I should be so I believe Hugo The Starfish and Good Friends will help me out as well.
Once again I know Charlie gets this from me as well. Together through Hugo The Starfish and Good Friends we will be able to change the way we do things and work on things and hopefully get better at how we treat people including each other. Because I wouldn’t want Charlie to treat his children this way.
