When Charlie was little he was always asking for certain series of books including Diary of a Wimpy Kid and the Fly Guy Series. Now that Charlie has gotten older its hard to get Charlie to read anything. When I requested Diary of a Wimpy Kid Hot Mess I was thinking it would be a nice gift for my nephew Jason and my niece Lily.

Charlie saw Diary of a Wimpy Kid Hot Mess laying on my desk and picked it up to take a picture of the cover to send to his friend Bradley. Later that day Bradley came over. Charlie and David picked up Hot Mess and began to thumb through the book.

Before I knew what was going on a hour had gone by and the boys were sitting quietly on the couch reading the book. They had so much fun discussing the illustrations and sharing them with me. Once they finished the book they let me know they loved the story.

Charlie said he wanted to keep the book to add to his collection of books he has. Then he asked if we could go to the Store and see if they had other books in the series he didn’t have. Thank the LORD thanks to Jeff Kinney now my son has gotten back into reading.

I also read Diary of a Wimpy Kid Hot Mess and enjoyed the Trip they took to the Beach and the mysteries that surrounded them. Including the Meatball recipe I wish I had. be prepared to laugh out loud as you read Hot Mess and learn that its okay to keep a secret at times.

About the book:

Speaking of recipes—the secret ingredients behind Gramma’s famous Meatballs have been closely guarded for years. Can Greg unpack all of his family’s mysteries before their vacation is over? Or will he just stir the pot?
