#HomeschoolWithBoardGames: The University of Oklahoma Checkers

Sport is key in a lot of peoples lives and for #Homeschooling families is a subject they can study. Which is why in our series #HomeschoolWithBoardGames: The University of Oklahoma Checkers is the latest Game we would like to share with you.

Before you ask which of my family follows Football none of us are fans although sometimes David will watch the @DallasCowboy’s play especially if there in the Superbowl.

I purchased The University of Oklahoma Checkers for myself in memory of my daughter Suzzie who wanted to go to College at OU. Although, she passed before she could go.

Spelling:

The university of Oklahoma Checkers, Classic Game, King, Wears, Sooners Helmet, Pieces, Helmet King Pieces, Sticker Sheets, Instruction Sheet, Board Game, White., Red, Licensed, Collegiate, Officially, Products, Master Pieces

Reading:

Set the Game Board up and even though you and the people waiting to play may know how to play Checkers read through the rule book/ instructions with the players. Then ask the individuals waiting to play questions about what is going to happen and why. Have the players ask you questions so we know you understand what is going to happen and why.

Math Class:

Count the Game pieces and have someone in your home create 5 math problems for you to work out. Then create 5 math problems for them to work based on the number of game pieces you counted.

Art Class:

Create a piece of Art based on what happened in the game and include a description of what you drew and why.

Drama Class:

Create a scene from the Game and act it out for your parents. Or create a live Checker Game. Have everyone wear read or white. Then paly checkers just like you do with the board game. Don’t forget to crown the winners.

Cooking Class:

Create a snack based on the Game which can be served when your playing the game.

Thank you,

Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
