Homeschooling with ADHD hits close to home because when my daughter Suzzane was younger, I homeschooled her as well. Suzzane also tested she had ADD and ADHD. Most days trying to teach Suzzane drove both of us to scream. Until my Ex and I finally broke down and put Suzzane in Sylvan Learning Center and it was the best thing for Suzzane as they understood the correct way to teach her math and reading. I couldn’t get her to do.
Once I had Charlie, I was afraid he would also have ADD or ADHD, and it turns out one doctor says Charlie does have ADHD. Then another Doctor we visited says she doesn’t think Charlie does and is referring us to a Counselor. Charlie also has problems with his stomach, and she thinks this is part of the Stress Charlie is under from school. Trying to learn the way Public School expects its students to learn.
As soon as the schedule for the 2016 Digital Homeschool Convention posted I noticed they were Hosting a class for Homeschooling with ADHD. I knew it might have resources that would allow me to help both Charlie and I. Let me tell you I learned so much from Homeschooling with ADHD. I can’t wait to put the tips into place and see how they work not only with Charlie, but David and I as well. We all end up frustrated and angry as Charlie has a hard time getting things done. Now I know why and how to help not only Charlie out but David and me too.
I would like to invite you to check out the 2016 Digital Homeschool Conference and if you have been attending what has been your favorite class so far and why?
