Homeschool Texas History Lane Frost

The Mommies Reviews

For Texas History this week Charlie will be learning about Lane Frost. I have Charlie researching online and ordering The Cowboy Bible with Lane Frost on the cover.

Taking a Field Trip to the Library to pick up the following books:

Eight Seconds

Watching the movie 8 Seconds and Lane Frost – A Mother’s Story as told by Elsie Frost – VHs

Questions Charlie will be researching for a report:

Who was Lane Frost father?

What did his dad do?

Where did Lane Frost live?

How many Rodeos did Lane Frost win?

What was the name of the Bull who killed Lane Frost and what happened to the Bull?

For Art Charlie will be drawing a picture of Lane Frost, the Bull who killed Lane and the Horse Lane rode.

What year was Lane born and when and where did he die?

What happened to Lanes parents? His wife?

Take a Field Trip to the Fort Worth Stockyards and check out the The Texas Rodeo Cowboy Hall of Fame Lane Frost display. Charlie will share 3 things he learned about Lane Frost in a written report he will read aloud.

Texas Rodeo Cowboy Hall of Fame
The Texas Rodeo Cowboy Hall of Fame honors the men and women, committees and associations, and the livestock that champions the western lifestyle and supports the sport of Rodeo. This honor represents the brilliant effort and dedication of cowboys, cowgirls, volunteers and personnel that make Rodeo and the State of Texas so proud. It is a dedication and talents of the contestants and the support of communities across the Lone Star state, to come together and enjoy competitive rodeo action at an elite level. The TRCHF was founded in 1975 by Belton businessman and PRCA contestant Johnny Boren. His vision and passion for rodeo and for the people of rodeo has grown into a beautiful tribute of 390 pictures and biographies that currently drape the walls of the Cowtown Coliseum in the Historic Fort Worth Stockyards. These are the acclaimed and unsung heroes that made Texas rodeo what it is today.
