Favorite Holiday Virtual Field Trips– All grades, with parental supervision
At this site, you can take a virtual tour of the Spangler Candy Cane Factory. They explain the process of mass production of candy canes through text and photographs.
Take a virtual tour to see how Christmas trees are grown from seedlings to mature trees. When you get to the site you’ll see an introduction followed by an index of the topics covered on the virtual tour. Click on “Tour Stop 1: Conifer Seedling” to begin. Then, just follow the prompts to experience the entire tour.
Take a virtual field trip to Lapland to see a Reindeer farm! The 4-minute YouTube video from the BBC shows the herd and provides some information on the care and management of reindeer.
Leavenworth Nutcracker Museum is located in the state of Washington, and you can take a virtual video “Museum Tour” at their website.

This “How It’s Made” video explains how glass Christmas Ornaments are made.
This video demonstrates how Glassblowers create Christmas Tree Ornament bulbs and figurines, and then shows how they are colored and decorated. You’ll also discover how the stems are made and capped before the ornament is boxed and shipped to stores.
