Having Charlie homeschool allows us to bring other kids into the Art Class and Field Trips we go on. A couple weeks ago Lily and Jason were playing outside with the Chalk. When Charlie decided to color a pair of white slippers with chalk David brings home from the Airport.
I honestly didn’t think the chalk would adhere to the shoes but the chalk did. As Lily and Charlie watched Charlie color his shoes. They asked if they could color a pair as well. As Debbie and I watched the kids we decided to color our own shoes as well.
Once we finished we all put on our creations and created the Slipper Parade and walked through our neighborhood getting the kids off electronics for a bit.
If your looking for a fun Art project that will not break the bank but can be used over and over again pick up a pair of Slippers and Outside Chalk. Find some newspaper to lay the shoes on. Have the kids put on old clothes. If they don’t want to get chalk on there hands rubber gloves.
Then give them a pair of white slippers and let them get to designing there own shoes. Before you say we don’t have any shoes take the kids on a Field Trip to Thrift Stores and Walmart and check out the clearance aisles and you can find Slippers on sale at times. Or find a pair of shoes they’ve outgrown and let the kids experiment with them.
Thank you,
Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
