Smarty Ants builds foundational reading skills in an interactive and adaptive learning environment designed to create a love of reading. With their personal ant guide, “Coach” leading the way, students work through animated lessons and activities.
National Council for Open Education: EduRef – Language Arts– (Grades PreK-12, with parental supervision
This website consists of contributions from teachers sharing their favorite language arts lesson plans.
When you get to the site, you can get right to any lesson plan listed. Or you can choose a category from the right sidebar including:

- Story Telling

Each lesson plan has an age range followed by the lesson plan. You can even print them out to refer to as needed.
LightSail Language Arts Program
LightSail for Homeschoolers is an adaptive online language arts program for pre-school through high school featuring its one-of-a-kind Personalized Reader tool that helps readers unlock the magic of books.
Reading Rockets: Start with a Book– Grades PreK-8, with parental supervision
This website is a project of the PBS show, Reading Rockets and along with funding from The Park Foundation, Inc. they offer themed booklists and activities for summer reading and learning.
When you get to the website click on any of the topics in the center of the page. A new page opens providing instructions on how to explore a particular theme:
