Homeschool Resource Myths and History of Greece and Rome

Good morning and can you believe it is the end of April? Now we are facing Mother’s Day, so I wanted to help you kick off May in a big way. Share a new Homeschool Resource with you.

Age Range: 10-18 (Grades 5-12, with parental supervision)
Take an audio journey through Greek and Roman mythology and history with the help of this website from Paul Vincent. Inspired by the author’s young sons, these podcasts written and created to provide his sons with more knowledge about the subject that interested them.
Topics that are covered include:
  • Ancient Greek story of Creation
  • Olympian Gods
  • The Age of Heroes, Perseus, Jason and the Argonauts, Heracles
  • Trojan War
  • Prehistoric Greece
  • The rise of Athens, Sparta, and other city-states
  • Alexander the Great
  • The Roman invasion of Greece

To work through the podcasts in sequence, at the bottom of the home page, select the “Older Posts” link until you reach the first page. Here you will want to listen to the “Welcome” and “Introduction” posts to get a good idea of the purpose of the site and the information presented. An added bonus is that visitors can listen online or download the files to listen on the go.

Be sure to bookmark this website as new podcasts are added on a regular basis.

And I would like to let you know the second resource is for children older than Charlie. So we will not be checking into it. But since I wasn’t sure what age your children are I thought you might be able to use it.
I would like to ask if you have used either of these Homeschool Resources and if so what did you think of them and would you use them again. Or is there something else you prefer and think Charlie and I should check into? And why do you feel that way?
Thank, you,
Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
