Math Games and Worksheets

The Mommies Reviews
I thought we would do something different for math because I knew Charlie was getting tired of using the workbooks all the time.  thought we would see if we could find the deck of cards I bought for school.
Or the dice and create math games. Or I could look online for Math Games and Worksheets we could use. Or we can use the Board Games we own where we have to count. Which would include Monopoly or Yahtzee.

To be on the safe side if I can’t find them, we will be using online math websites I found. Which will give Charlie something new and different to do. Charlie will be able to play games which he loves to do, and he usually pays more attention when playing games. Yes, in Homeschool you can do this.
The first site we will be using is Hooda Math Games I checked out this morning, and I found quite a few games Charlie would enjoy playing. The best part is the website is free to use. I would like to invite you to come and join let’s play games and have some fun today.

It’s Monday time for Math Recommended Website: HoodaMath
Age Range: 6-13 (Grades 1-8, with parental supervision)
HoodaMath.com is an ad-supported website that offers FREE math games to learn and practice necessary math skills in the following areas:
  • Addition
  • Subtraction
  • Multiplication
  • Division
  • Fractions
  • Integers
  • Algebra

When you get to the site, you’ll see featured games. To sort by math strand and grade range, scroll to the menu at the bottom of the page.

Notice that the games can be sorted by game style – such as games that require the player to escape, shop, build, race, etc.

IMPORTANT: Every game is free to play but accompanied by a randomly generated advertisement, usually delivered as a video clip. Some of the ad content is geared for adults, not kids. As always, parents should preview the website and supervise all Internet access.

You’ll also find links to some animated math “movies” and math tutorials (on a YouTube channel with random ads) that provide instruction in Whole Numbers, Decimals, Fractions, Ratio and Proportion, Percent, Integers, Order of Operations, Algebra, and Geometry designed for grades 3-6. To find the movies and tutorials scroll to the menu at the bottom of the homepage. The videos are meant to be entertaining but may seem silly to more mature kids

Math-Play.com
If Charlie gets tired of Hooda Math, I also found another site for us to check out. Yes, it is also free, and it is called Math-Play.com, and it is also a free site. I visited Math-Play.com. They have a Soccer game I am sure Charlie would like to play. This game will have our students adding two numbers together, and we have been working on this.

I hope you enjoyed these Homeschool Resource Math Games and Worksheets if you have used any of them let me know what you thought of them. If you haven’t but would like to let me know why and if there is something different you use let me know what it is. I am looking for new math resources for Charlie and I to use next year.

Thank you,

Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
