Homeschool Resource Math

This morning I wanted to bring you two new Homeschool Resources for Math. The first one is IXL  which I haven’t had the opportunity for Charlie to try out. The second resource is Turtle Diary – Math, and we did play one game on here, and I plan on revisiting the website this afternoon to see what else Charlie would enjoy using in our classroom.

IXL – Save 25% + Get 400 SmartPoints

Members tell us time and again that their kids just LOVE IXL Math. With over 100 topics, over 100 skills, unlimited math questions, we were told that a child could literally use this program for hours and never repeat a single problem! That offers a lot of challenges to sharpen your child’s math skills. Members save 25% on this exclusive GroupBuy offer at the Co-op. Plus, purchase this week as a Deal of the Week and get 400 SmartPoints.

This site has free, animated, interactive games to help young kids learn and practice basic arithmetic.
When you get to the website, you will see a menu of free math games. You can choose by type, grade or topic. Here is a list of some of the games by class:
  • Preschool: Count Money, Pattern Match, Color by Number
  • Kindergarten: Using a Calculator, Skip Counting, Pattern Match
  • First Grade: Bingo Multiplication, Battle for Roman Numerals, Time Zone
  • Second Grade: Estimate and Rounding, Adding Money, Congruent Shapes
  • Third Grade: Find the Multiples, Tangrams, Calculate Area
  • Fourth Grade: Target the Fraction, Reasonable Temperature, What Are Polygons
  • Fifth Grade: Divide and Grab, Decimal Detective, Monster Multiplication

This morning Charlie played Multiplayer Car Race Game, and he liked being able to choose which car he wanted to be. He decided on Hulk. As we played, we had to answer the question in many different forms and what surprised me was Charlie came in first place, and one of the features is we have to read the questions to know what to do. I liked seeing he wasn’t stumbling at all. We plan on using this new resource to our lessons  on Freebie Friday.

And so many more!
