I wanted to share our Lesson Plan on Keith Urban which is a artist Charlie will be studying this week. For our reading class Charlie will be reading Keith Urban’s Biography I found at Targets and if you click on the link in this post you will be able to find out about the book which I plan on purchasing.
Keith Lionel Urban[3][4] AO (born Urbahn; 26 October 1967) is an Australian and American singer, guitarist, and songwriter known for his work in country music. Recognised with four Grammy Awards,[5] Urban also received fifteen Academy of Country Music Awards, including the Jim Reeves International Award,[6] thirteen CMA Awards, and six ARIA Music Awards. Urban wrote and performed the song “For You” from the film Act of Valor, which earned him nominations at both the 70th Golden Globe Awards and at the 18th Critics’ Choice Awards in the respective Best Original Song categories.[7]
Urban has released 11 studio albums (one of which was released only in Australia), as well as one album with the Ranch. He has charted 37 singles on the US Hot Country Songs chart, 18 of which went to number one, counting a duet with Brad Paisley (“Start a Band“) and the 2008 single “You Look Good in My Shirt“. Urban also worked with numerous artists from different music genres, such as Pink, Nelly Furtado, Jason Derulo, Julia Michaels, and country artists like Dolly Parton, The Chicks, Carrie Underwood, Martina McBride, Eric Church, and Reba McEntire.
In 1991, he released a self-titled debut album, charting four singles in Australia before moving to the United States the following year. He started a band known as The Ranch, which recorded one studio album on Capitol Nashville and charted two singles on the US Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.

Monday:
Write your Spelling words 5 times each in ABC order in your Spelling Journal.
Tuesday:
Use your Spelling words in a sentences or in a story inside your Spelling Journal. If you write a story include a illustration of your story.
Wednesday:
Write your spelling words and a definition for each word inside your Spelling Journal.
Thursday:
Take a Pre-Spelling Test if you make a 100 take Friday off and do something fun.
Write any words you miss 10 times each in your Spelling Journal.
Friday:
if you missed words on your Pre-Spelling Test retake the test.
Reading Class:
Charlie will be reading Keith Urban and Fortunate Son: The Unlikely Rise of Keith Urban for 30 minutes Monday through Thursday and writing down 2 facts he learns each day in his Reading Journal.
On Friday Charlie will compile the facts into a report he reads to his parents.
Math Class:
Look up facts on Keith Urban’s career and turn them into Math problems for someone in your home to work out. Then have them create 5 math problems for you to work out using the facts you found.
Write the Math problems inside your Math Notebook.
Music Class:
Look up the songs Keith Urban sings and learn one of the songs to perform for your parents.
Visit a Local Resale or Thrift Store for a outfit like Keith Urban would have worn and dress like him for your performance.
Take a picture of you in the outfit for your Music Journal.
Drama Class:
Watch Keith Urban’s performances on stage and act out what he does.
Art Class:
Create a piece of Art using the information you’ve collected for your reports and then write a illustration of your Art work inside your Art Journal.
Cooking Class:
Research what Keith Urban likes to eat and create the dish for your parents.
If you can’t find the foods Keith likes to eat then look up the State he comes from which is Australia and prepare the dish they are famous for your parents.
Write the recipe inside your Cookbook and include a picture of the dish you created which will be turned into a Cookbook at the end of the year.
