Our Homeschool Resource this morning is from ICT Games: Numeracy Games and Charlie and I will be using them this morning to work on Division and Multiplication Games, and I might even see if Charlie will work on Place Value. Instead of using the workbooks we usually use. I would like to invite you to check out this new website.
Age Range: 5-8? (Grades K-3, with parental supervision)
This ad-supported website offers a collection of interactive games to help young children (and beginning mathematicians of all ages) learn and practice basic math skills.
When you get to the site you’ll see a menu of math “themes” that include:
- Place Value
- Counting & Ordering
- Number Facts
- Addition & Subtraction
- Multiplication & Division
- Money
- Time & Measure
- Fractions
Click on any theme, and a new page opens with a menu of selections for that particular math theme or strand. The games are colorful and engaging. Some lack sufficient explanation on how to play – so you may need to experiment a little until you figure it out.
I would like to ask if you and your students have used this website and if so what did you think of it and why?
Thank you,
Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
