Good morning, welcome to our Homeschool Resources: Math. Check out the websites below and let me know if you have used these resources with your children.
Math Mammoth created by Maria Miller, a Math teacher, and passionate Homeschool Math advocate. Math Mammoth offers a comprehensive library of PDF math worktexts, workbooks, and complete math curriculum in CD or digital download formats.
Grades 2-12, with parental supervision
At this website, use the menu to find “Study Stacks” of interactive, virtual flashcards for a variety of subjects.
Including Math resources, so scroll down and click on the ‘math’ icon. There are hundreds of choices including:
- Algebra Terms
- Multiplication Facts
- Divisibility Rules
- Factors and Multiples
- Statistics
- Financial Literacy
These flashcards are “evolved” and quite unique. They can list several facts on each card. The Study Stack cards feature virtual flaps which hide the information – each separate item is hidden behind its own virtual flap, so you can check yourself on one fact without seeing all of the others.
But that’s not all! Each set of virtual flashcards comes with its corresponding set of activities. There’s a matching game, hangman, a study table (where you can view all of the information in the form of a table), traditional flashcards, crossword, unscramble, and more!
Not only are there many sets of flashcards available to study; you can create your own (free) account and create your own sets to add to the website, or modify existing ones. (If you happen to notice a mistake, you can fix it yourself!)
So if you have a specific set of facts that you need to learn, you can join the many users who have entered their own flashcards here, and practice them… and invite your friends to try their hand at them, too!
In addition to Math, there are cards in the categories of Business, Geography, History, Languages, Medical, Science, and Standardized Tests.
Thank you,
Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
