Homeschool Blogger Shoutout LaVonda from Generation Homeschool

I wanted to come and share with you our newest Homeschool Blogger Shoutout LaVonda from Generation Homeschool.

I stopped by the site I wanted to stay and visit awhile because it feels like home.

Generation Homeschool has a store on Teachers Pay Teachers. I went to look around, and I found this new math resource called Ways to Write a Number: Monster Math  the perfect way to engage students, get them moving, and practice different ways to write numbers in standard form, word form, expanded form and using place value blocks

Product Description

This math activity is the perfect way to engage students, get them moving, and practice different ways to write numbers in standard form, word form, expanded structure, and using place value blocks.

The Monster Math packet includes 24 cards, 5 student work pages, and a corresponding answer key.

Each monster card features a unique monster and a number in either standard form, word form, expanded form, or using place value blocks. Numbers are either two or three digits.

Set these cards up around the class for an all-class scavenger hunt or use them in centers as flashcards. Students will find the matching monster on their work page and fill in the number in its different forms.

We are the Evans Family. There are seven of us.

Our Mom is our teacher. Our Dad is our teacher, too.
Our oldest sibling is Kasidy. Next is Kris. Kody comes next. Kanon brings up the end, and the caboose (and toddler) Kelley, will be starting homeschooling in a year.

We each work at our own pace. We grow in the lessons and ask questions when we don’t understand. But unlike public school and the primary lecture learning, we learn in our own way. Some of us are auditory learners, others are visual, and some are hands-on. By utilizing all three aspects, our parents are able to reach all of us, rather than provide a brief once-over that occurs in the public school setting.

Yes, we are different. And different is good. Homeschooling isn’t for everyone – but it fits us just fine!

These are very special kids – our kids! I carried them. Together with my husband, we have raised them to be independent individuals. In my mind, it only seems right to educate them. They are our responsibility. After a full high school and college education myself, it is my firm belief that education is more than test scores and government funding. It is the light in their eyes when something “clicks”. It is the anticipation of going somewhere new! It is knowing that my children are getting the absolute most without the negative stress that comes from public school. As stated above, homeschooling suits us just fine!

I hope you take the time to visit Generation Homeschool as you will find a lot of Homeschool Freebies.
