Well, its May 2nd and the past week has wiped me out. I have been sick and then op top of that Charlie got sick. So I am behind in this series for Holiday Insights, Daily Holidays, Traditions, Facts, & more! April 23rd.
But even though April is over and its May I am not going to let that stop me. I am going to finish out April and start on May because I’m not a quitter. Are you.
On April 24th its Pig in a Blanket Day. Do you think that is the breakfast food or a actual Pig in a Blanket? If I had my choice I would say a Pig and I would ask David to get one for me.
Charlie and David would chose the Pigs in a Blanket and ask me to make them for them not only for Breakfast but Dinner. Do you like Pigs in a Blanket? What do you dip them in? Growing up we used Mustard. But I have seen Charlie and David use Ranch as well.
April 24
Pig in a Blanket Day is a day to eat a sausage wrapped in a pancake. Why? Because that’s what “Pig in a Blanket” is.
Somewhere someone decided this was a very special treat so, they created a day to celebrate this culinary delight. Aren’t you glad that they did?
How does one go about celebrating Pig in a Blanket Day? I would say you should cook up Sausage and make some Pancakes. Then wrap the Sausage inside of the Pancake. A lot of people like Maple Syrup.
but my family doesn’t care for Maple Syrup but that doesn’t stop us from Chowing down.
