Hobby Lobby

The Mommies Reviews

Once a week my friend Debbie and I have lunch together. We go shopping for decorations for her new home her family is planning on purchasing this Summer. One of the stores we visit is Hobby Lobby.

As we were walking through Hobby Lobby last week I found signs I would like to purchase for my home.. If I can get David to help me finish remodeling the inside of our home. Especially Charlie’s room.

The first two signs I would like to share with you is a sign I picked out for Charlie’s room. The sign says “I Can Kiss You Anytime“. Charlie thinks he is to big to be kissed by me in certain places. As a mom that isn’t true. A child is never to old to be kissed and told we love them.

The second sign I chose is for our Dinning Room and the sign says “the fondest memories are made when we gather around the table” because as a child we always had dinner together as the Dinning Room table. Which I also did when Suzzane and my nephew was younger.

I hate to admit it but my family has gotten out of the habit of sitting down at the table and having dinner together. We end up sitting on the couch watching TV as we eat and over 90% of the time Charlie eats in his room while playing a Video Game.

Eating in front of the tv doesn’t give us the opportunity to chat and discuss our day and find out what Charlie is learning or wants to share with us. Or for David to talk to us about his day. Or even for me to share things I did.

Its up to me to change this and bring my family back to the dinner table so we can get to know each other. As well as for our health because it isn’t healthy eating in front of the TV.

To do this I need to make the Dinning Room a place we want to be in and I believe fun and unique decoration and signs will capture our attention and give us a reason to eat in the dinning room.

The third sign I picked out was “You will eat it and you will like it.” Because no, matter who is cooking and what they are making someone always complains and as a cook I know that can and will hurt there feelings.

In a way complaining about the cooking and the meal the cook is creating is Bullying and its time to stop everyone from being negative and to try new dishes. We need to show our appreciation for the cook.

Thank you,

Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
