History Is Inventive

The Mommies Reviews

Back to School is around the corner I wanted to share a new book called History Is Inventive which I was sent a copy to review.

History Is Inventive: A Book by Honest History quantity

*Shipping August 10
A children’s book exploring inventions (and their inventors) that changed the world. Discover the true stories behind amazing creations, from the Antikythera mechanism, an ancient analogue computer, to the Baghdad Battery. On every page, young historians will learn something new about each invention through engaging stories accompanied by beautiful illustrations and design—you may even find you have the next Charles Drew on your hands after they put the book down.

Not only will kiddos learn about these amazing inventions, they will participate in the original creative process themselves, like building a telescope using the same rudimentary methods used by the inventors. From ancient to modern inventions, kids will discover the revolutionary ideas and processes used to create the foundation for our modern lives.

Charlie will be learning History this year through me teaching him if Charlie and David get there way. While I am lobbying for Charlie to return to school.

Which honestly doesn’t look like its going to happen now that Covid is on the rise again. Not only that my niece is talking about Homeschooling my niece Lily and Jason as well.

If Alyssa does then she can bring the kids over for History Class and we can read History Is Inventive and research the inventions mentioned in the book. Which David said he would like to be home for as well.

LORD help me not only would I have 3 students to teach but a grown man David who thinks he know everything as well. Can I teach them? I think so through the Lord and my new book History Is Inventive.

Just flipping through the book I found Spelling Words which can also be used for Vocabulary and learning definitions of new words. Along with Art Projects.

Charlie said he can’t wait to make up Commercials about the products being featured including the Television which can be used for Drama Class and Music Class.

I know when we learn about Make-Up the kids will want to paint there faces and we can research how to make Face Paint for Science Class and Cooking Class as we can use the leftover food to make a Snack.

There is a list of Inventors we can research and Charlie and the kids can do a report on as well as try and make the inventions they created. Then each of the kids can look up one more Inventor they would like to learn about.

Thank you,

Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
