The Mommies Reviews

Charlie has been wanting to work out more, so David and I went and purchased a membership to our local Recreation Center. Then David’s hours changed and we haven’t been able to go even though I need to walk. This week David and I will be setting up the upstairs balcony since we’ve turned the back porch into a reading nook for me.

Charlie will be working on a list of weights and things he wants for his gym including a punching bag. As well as tips for us to follow as we set up the gym. If you’re thinking of starting a gym for your teenagers here are the steps in setting up a home gy for teenagers. Just remember if your children are like Charlie there will be plenty of eye rolls.

Here are the steps in setting up a home gym for teenagers:

  1. Decide on a budget. Home gym equipment can range in price from a few hundred dollars to several thousand dollars. It’s important to set a budget before you start shopping so that you don’t overspend.
  2. Choose a space. The next step is to choose a space for your home gym. This could be a spare bedroom, a basement, or even a corner of your living room. Just make sure that the space is big enough for all of the equipment you plan to buy and that it has enough ventilation.
  3. Buy the right equipment. Once you have a budget and a space, it’s time to start buying equipment. There are a few things to keep in mind when choosing equipment for your home gym. First, make sure that the equipment is appropriate for your teenager’s age and fitness level. Second, consider your teenager’s interests. If they’re interested in weight lifting, you’ll need to buy different equipment than if they’re interested in yoga.
  4. Set up your home gym. Once you have all of your equipment, it’s time to set up your home gym. This is where you’ll need to get creative. If you have a small space, you may need to get creative with how you store your equipment. You may also want to consider adding some personal touches to your home gym, such as posters or music.
  5. Make it fun. The most important thing is to make your home gym fun for your teenager. If they’re not enjoying themselves, they’re less likely to stick with it. So, make sure to add some variety to their workouts and keep things interesting.

Here are some additional tips for setting up a home gym for teenagers:

  • Get your teenager involved in the planning process. This will help them feel more ownership of the space and be more likely to use it.
  • Make sure the equipment is safe and age-appropriate.
  • Create a comfortable and inviting space.
  • Set realistic goals. Don’t expect your teenager to become a fitness expert overnight.
  • Be patient and encouraging. It takes time to develop healthy habits.

With a little planning, you can create a home gym that your teenager will love using.
