Last weekend my family was invited to Heart Fest featuring Josh Abbott Band and Chancey William’s both musicians my family hadn’t heard of. The event was held at Legacy Food Hall in Plano, Texas which my family had never heard of but we can’t wait to return.
Inside Legacy Hall Plano is over 20 restaurants and it is 2 stories. In the middle is a courtyard for events. Upstairs is a rooftop view that my family would like to check out in the future. When visiting here come hungry because if your like us you will want to try a little bit of everything and don’t forget the Boozy Ice Cream and Snow Cones.
Outside were table set up for VIPS and around the outside general admission seats. I worried David and Charlie because they were high bar stools but I did just fine. Parking wasn’t to far away and I loved how light up the trees were walking into the event.
Being here allowed me to bring Charlie to a concert and not worry about one of us getting lost or Charlie being overwhelmed with all of the people. I haven’t seen Charlie have this much fun in a while. Being her gave David and Charlie time together as they walked around outside a bit before the concert looking at the cars and shops we want to come back and check out.
Chancey Williams took the stage and we all enjoyed his music and even found we knew several of the songs. Once he finished the Digital Auction began and it was fun seeing all the items they had for Auction. In the future I will make sure we have money set aside to bid on the items.
The even was from 6 to 10 and I figured by 8 or 9 Charlie would be asking to leave but he wasn’t. Once Josh Abbott took the stage Charlie was so into the music the time slipped by and it was time to leave. Charlie is one who doesn’t like for us to drink because his dad is a recovering alcoholic but David ordered a Beer and Jack & Coke for me and Long Island Iced Tea for my sister and it didn’t even faze Charlie.
Debbie and I shared a Bar B Que Platter from Dry Rub with Sliced Brisket and Potato Wedges and Tater Tots so everyone at the table would be able to share. The Brisket was amazing and I can’t wait to come back. David choose The Italian Job and he and Charlie shared the Meat Lovers Pizza and it was so good. There was even enough for his lunch even with Charlie and David sharing.
Debbie and I ordered a Cinnamon Roll for dessert from Press Waffle Company which was a Waffle Cinnamon Roll. I hadn’t ever heard of. She took it home to share with my niece and nephew who loved it. I ordered a scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream from Bourbon Vanilla Ice Cream Co. with no, liqueur and it was perfect.
Charlie hasn’t stopped talking about Legacy Food Hall Plano since we’ve come home with his friends. he loves describing it as a 5 star eatery and Concert Hall. I can’t wait to come back for other events like Friends Trivia. Or for Charlie’s 16th Birthday in December.
If you haven’t had the opportunity to visit Legacy hall Plano I hope you will soon because its the perfect family spot for dinner, or girls night out or even a first date. For my family this gave me the opportunity to attend a concert with my son which I might not have been able to do otherwise. My sister came with us and she has been down in the dumps and she had so much fun I can never thank Legacy Hall Plano and I Heart Fest enough for giving my family a safe place to hang out and listen to music while having dinner and no, it wasn’t to loud we could visit. There is seating inside and outside the event.
Being at the event allowed me to celebrate my dad who had several Strokes after my daughter was killed due to a freak accident. As well as my mom’s family who suffered from Cardiovascular Diseases. I just wish my parents had been here to attend the event with us. I can’t wait to let my mom’s remaining family and my dad’s sister Sue know about the event so they can check it out and hopefully join us here next year.
