Friday evening Charlie, David and I decided to sneak away for a Family Staycation. We headed to Mesquite, Texas. Living in or around Fort Worth all of our lives you would think we would have been to Mesquite before but we hadn’t been.
We would be staying at Hampton Inn & Suites on Rode Drive next to the Mesquite Rodeo. We would be attending the Mesquite Rodeo on Saturday evening thanks to #PictureYourselfinMesquiteFamTour.
Charlie was so excited to be able to spend the weekend at Hampton Inn & Suites because Charlie couldn’t wait to arrive at the Hotel to check out the Pool.
David, just wanted a nice place to rest as he was exhausted from all the hours he had been putting in at work. For me personally I wanted to check out the Business Center the mentioned on there website.
When you own a business your work follows you everywhere. I knew it would be easier using the business office than trying to work from my room.
Charlie and David would be watching TV or talking to me. We arrived at Hampton Inn & Suites Charlie pointed out the flowers and how pretty the front of the hotel was.
We went to check in and the staff was so kind. They let us know where the Pool was and that there was a Fitness Room. The clerk went over breakfast with us and the hours it would be served.
Then the host let me know we could purchase snacks 24/7 as the Snack Shop would be open if we wanted to treat ourselves. We went up to our room to check it out before unloading the car.
As soon as we walked in I felt right at home. Charlie was so excited to see two queen beds because Charlie thought he might have to sleep on the floor.
David and Charlie sat down on the bed and Charlie let me know it was so soft he could have went right to sleep. I loved the pillows. But I was sitting at the little desk and the chair was so comfortable.
Charlie found a foot stool he could move around the room and declared it his personal chair for the weekend. The Hampton Room & Suites was very room was nice.
I liked walking in and feeling the nice cool air we watched a little TV while relaxing from the drive from Fort Worth to Mesquite. Charlie went in to take a shower and was amazed at the Rain head Shower Head.
Charlie let me know he would have liked to bring the Shower Head home. I went over how Charlie could leave the towels on the floor and the staff would pick the dirty towels up and replace them with clean towels.
Charlie let me know he had used all the Shampoo and Conditioner. I was able to show Charlie sign saying he could ask the Front Desk to bring him more or he would be able to use what I had brought.
David was able to unload our car on our own because they had a Cart he could use to bring our bags up to the room and it would hold everything in one trip.
Having the cart was great because I was hurting from the trip and wasn’t able to pick up bags with my shoulder hurting. Charlie was so tired and excited but he went with David because he wanted to push the cart.
When we finished unloading the car we were able to sit down and have a snack which the Hotel had left with bottles of water. When we were rested we we went to check out the Fitness Center and the Swimming Pool so Charlie would know where it was and how to get to them.
Charlie, was a little sad because the Fitness Center says you have to be 18 to workout. Although once we ventured out to the Pool, Charlie was fine because he was able to use the entire pool which is only 5 feet deep.
Charlie and David used me to play Keep Away with them in the Swimming Pool. When they weren’t looking I went and sat on one of the Chaises and laid out.
As the sun went down and the day became cooler I was able to sit under the covered Patio and watch Charlie and David play together in the Swimming Pool.
Once they got tired we went and grabbed dinner from Subway for Charlie. David and I had Dairy Queen which was close to the Hotel. We also found a Griff’s Hamburgers which I thought was only in Fort Worth.
We ventured into the Lobby where we sat for a little while around the Fireplace. Then I ventured into the Business Office where they had two computers we could use.
If I had been Homeschooling Charlie full time I would have been able to have Charlie use computers to do his school lessons on. While I was working Charlie and David went to take a walk.
We all ventured upstairs and Charlie and David watched TV while I got ready to read my book. With the TV on the noise was bothering me so I went to sit out on the Balcony in the Lobby and was able to just rest and relax.
I can’t wait to return to Hampton Inn & Suites for another Staycation hopefully during the Christmas Holiday’s. David has said I can look for a Hampton Inn & Suites in Fort Worth and we could have another mini vacation before Charlie enters Middle School.
Did you know that there is a Visit Mesquite TX! has a app? You can download the app on both Apple and Android devices to discover all the places you can explore, stay, dine, shop, and meet in Mesquite.
You can bet I will be sharing the app with all of my friends and family because I hope to bring my niece and nephew out to the Mesquite Rodeo and Hampton Inn & Suites will be the perfect place to stay.
