Halloween is next Monday and I still don’t have a clue of what to get Charlie for Halloween. Or my nephew Jason because they get to much candy. I decided I would look for a Halloween book for Charlie. These are the Halloween Books for Tweens and Teens I came up with for Charlie. Which book do you think I should choose and why?
Halloween Party (Fear Street, No. 8)– Book 8 of 36: Fear Street
FEAR STREET — WHERE YOUR WORST NIGHTMARES LIVE…
The invitation arrived in a black-borderred envelope and was delivered by the beautiful and mysterious transfer student. The inside showed a coffin with the inscription “reserved for You” — perfect for an al-night Halloween party in an old house on Fear Street.
The party was well under way when the lights went out. That’s to be expected at the Halloween party. But when the lights came back on, there was a boy on the floor with a knife in his back. Just a Halloween prank? Maybe. Maybe not.
Now the guests trick-or-treating has turned to terror. And it looks like someone’s idea of a party game is murder!
Roald Dahl’s Book of Ghost Stories
Who better to investigate the literary spirit world than that supreme connoisseur of the unexpected? From the author of such beloved books as James and the Giant Peach, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and The Witches comes a collection of spooky tales carefully curated by the author himself, Roald Dahl’s Book of Ghost Stories.
Of the many permutations of the macabre or bizarre, Dahl was always especially fascinated by the classic ghost story. As he relates in the erudite introduction to this volume, he read some 749 supernatural tales at the British Museum Library before selecting the 14 that comprise this anthology. “Spookiness is, after all, the real purpose of the ghost story,” Dahl writes. “It should give you the creeps and disturb your thoughts.”
For this superbly disquieting collection, Dahl offers favorite tales by such masterful storytellers as E. F. Benson, J. Sheridan Le Fanu, Rosemary Timperley, and Edith Wharton.
