Guess Who’s Joined Our Holiday Gift Guide? Roger Davis with the first book he has published. The novel is called Greywycke. I read the synopsis of the story. Finding out it is like a daytime soap opera caught my attention and had me wanting to sit down and read it. When I was growing up in the 80’s like everyone else around me I was hooked on Soap Operas. One of the features I enjoyed about this new book was it allowed me to relive my past.

“Downton Abbey” meets the most twisted daytime soap opera at Roger Davis’ Greywycke Castle. In Davis’ new book, “Greywycke,” a noble family’s schemes and affairs play out in the Welsh Marshes in the early 1800s.

Murder in the Welsh Marshes “Downtown Abbey” meets “Days of Our Lives” at Greywycke Castle.

BURTON, S.C. – Can duty overpower the heart’s desire?

In Roger Davis’ “Greywycke,” Lady Kaline de Belmar must choose between family expectations and her own desire, all while finding the inner strength she never knew she had.

Taking place in the early 1800s, near the Welsh Marches, this suspenseful murder-mystery novel combines the familial duties and traditions of “Downton Abbey” with the drama and scheming characters of a daytime soap opera.

“This book explores family dynamics we all encounter,” Davis said. “While we all may not be born of nobility, we can all relate to polarizing family relationships and the need to follow our own destinies.”

Davis is an avid fan of history and historical novels. He received his Bachelor’s degree at the University of South Carolina, as well as a Dual Master’s Degree from Webster University. His book won the coveted iUniverse “Editor’s Choice” award and is the first, of a two-part series of historical fiction novels.

“What we learn from history,” Davis said, “can help shape our future.”
