Charlies teachers have been wanting Charlie to work on items he struggles with at home. So they have sent us a couple websites for math. So I need to find Charlie some for reading as well. In the meantime I have a website we will be using called Grammar Practice Park. I have a question for you have you used Grammar called Grammar Practice Park and if so what did you like about Grammar called Grammar Practice Park and was there anything you didn’t like about Grammar called Grammar Practice Park and why?
Age Range: 8-11 (Grades 3-5, with parental supervision)
This website, sponsored by Harcourt School Publishers, provides twelve, free, interactive, multi-media grammar games that help students practice and improve their understanding of grammar.
The games cover the following topics:
- Nouns
- Pronouns
- Verbs
- Past and Future Tense
- Plural Spellings
- Prepositions
- Sentence Structure (phrases, dependent clauses, and independent clauses)
- Punctuation
When you get to the site you’ll see a menu of games divided by grade level. Click on any game and a new page opens where you can begin play.
These practice games are based upon lessons in Harcourt textbooks and workbooks. You do need some basic knowledge of grammar to play the practice games, as they are not instructional – just a way to practice what you do know, or find out what you don’t know.
Thank you,
Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
