As a stepmom, I knew one day Leslie would graduate and leave for College, but wasn’t is a time I was looking for. it seems once a child leaves home, they never come back again other than to visit. With Leslie graduation from High School, it has been both sad as well as scary. Although it made me happy and very proud of Leslie. In college, Leslie will be living in a dorm which is the first time she has been away from home for an extended period.
By her living there it means Leslies has to make all of her own decisions which means making sure her bills are paid, as we will not be there to do this for her. This is a lot more responsibility than Leslie has ever experienced. For David and me, this is scary as we will not be around the corner if she needs anything. This is why we are adamant that she has a cell phone with her at all times.
I am sure Leslie will have a part-time job as well as sports and ROTC to attend, and for that, she is going to need a reliable mobile phone. My husband and I are going to need the cheapest wireless plans to go along with that mobile phone. There is nothing worse than seeing a teenagers cell phone bill from all the texting they do. Walmart Family Mobile plans are available in stores around the country with Family Mobil Plans #FamilyMobile #CollectiveBias we do not have to worry as it is unlimited text and talk for one low price.
With the amount of college tuition, I needed to find an inexpensive cell phone plan, so we begin searching around and the other plans we found was way too expensive and something we couldn’t afford and neither could Leslie. With several of them, you would purchase a card and add minutes to your phone. Some of those phones charge you even if you do not use your phone. If you run out of minutes the phone will not work and there might not be a place close by to purchase more cards to refill the phone with. I knew we would spend more than our budget would allow if we chose one of these services.
Since we were looking for a new phone, we stopped by Walmart, knowing that they might offer an easy and inexpensive cell phone plan. If you would like to check out this service all you need to do is visit your local Walmart, choose a phone that works with their Family Mobile Plan. David and I picked out the Nokia Lumia 521 for $99.88. We had the option to activate the phone ourselves, but we opted to have Walmart do this for us, Once we purchased the Nokia Lumia 521 it was activated right at checkout, to me it was more comfortable, then we were on our way. I liked that one of the options Leslie was given allowed to choose her area code to match her boyfriends.
Knowing Leslie will be out later than I like on school nights, I will not be as worried as I might be, as she will have her Nokia Lumia 521 with her at all time and it has unlimited text and talk so she will always be able to get a hold of us.
With the Nokia Lumia 521 and the cell plan through Walmart, we were able to get the Cheap(est) Wireless Plan and I will not have to worry about Leslie being safe.
If money is an issue, like in our home, I do not have to worry about this service, because it is one price and doesn’t go up no matter how much Leslie talks or text. Even with as much texting, Leslie does with her boyfriend that lives in Huston right now, the bill will not go up or nor will she run out of text time.
I am grateful that Walmart Family Mobile plan, offers two different programs. One with unlimited talk, text, and web for $39.88 and another with just unlimited talk and text for $29.88. I would purchase the second plan for David and Charlie as they do not need the text but would be able to keep in contact with Leslie at any time.
There is an activation fee of $25.00 with no other charges.
Leslie also liked knowing they offered both Windows and Android phones. With Leslie graduating and leaving for College soon, I always want to see that she is able to reach us at any time and with Walmart Family plan we know Leslie will be able to. Leslie likes knowing her phone will allow us to keep in touch no matter the time of day or night.
