God leads us down a path we hadn’t planned on taking which is what had happened last week. I was working on the American Legion Craft Fair hanging up flyers when we begin to head out to local areas to canvass.
I kept telling David I needed to go down a particular street where there were a lot of apartments, but for some reason, I never seemed to make it. Even on the day of the American Legion Benefit Craft Fair I still had gotten down that street.
But because “God” lead me down Broadway, I walked into every business on that Street. I meet so many people who chose to come and support us which was “Gods” plan all along.
Including a little Spa for dogs the gentleman that owned the Pet Spa was sitting in his car. I was able to meet him and tour his company. Then he introduced me to another Vendor who makes dog clothes. I’m Praying both of these business owners come to my next event.
I started back up Broadway, and I knew I needed to hurry as I had to pick Charlie up from school because he was getting out at noon. I let David know I had one more place to go by so we stopped by Haltom Jr. High and left flyers there for the teachers because I have a friend Angie who teachers and I knew she would come out to the event.
Then I went into the old library and left flyers as David walked into City Hall to drop them off in their office. I kept walking as I was going to meet David at the end of the Street.
When I walked past Watkins Printing, as I did, I looked at there door and saw one of my flyers for on their door. I knew David and I hadn’t hung that flyer up.
I started to walk on but decided I needed to stop inside and tell them “Thank you” for there support. As I did the gentleman that owned Watkins Printing, let me know he was the Mayor Pro-Term of Haltom City.
The gentleman whom I found out was Mr. Watkins asked me my name. I let him know who I was. Mr. Watkins said I’ve been following you for years and all you do for the Community.
I would like to say “Thank you” which caused me to melt on the spot.”Mr. Watkins,” only Bob says that is his father he is just “BOB” would be at my event on Saturday, but with him being almost 80 Bob forgets things.
On Saturday morning Bob started to turn on the TV for a Football game when his wife reminded him he was supposed to be somewhere and because Bob had shared my event on Facebook my Craft Fair showed up in his news-feed.
Which was the only way Bob remembered he was supposed to come by the American Legion. Now Bob always wants me to keep him in the loop on anything I ever do.
Always make sure you share everything you’re doing on Facebook. You never know who will find your information and contact you. Also, you don’t know what that information you shared will lead you. If your looking for the best way to promote your business online. Then Facebook is the best way.
Before the end of the day Bob connected me to one of the Volunteers at the Senior Center who is hosting an event on October 29th. Since the day Bob joined us Bobbi, and I’ve become friends.
We’ve been working together to promote our events and sharing Vendors. I was also able to connect Bobbi and Kristi from Haltom High PTA. Now they’re sharing Vendors as well.
Even though you might not think God is listening to your needs, he is. If God is asking you to do something make sure you follow the things he asks you to do and not just do what you want to do.
If I hadn’t walked past Watkins Printing that day, I would never have had all these new contacts but more than that all my new friends who I can’t live without and wouldn’t want to.
Before I left the area I walked into the Recreation Center and took a picture of a sign for a Martial Arts/ Karate gentleman and just held onto it even though I didn’t know why because I had someone for this event but that I might be able to use them in the Future.
The gentleman I was counting on had to cancel on me. I got online and searched for someone. I emailed ten people. One gentleman emailed me back and said he would come out to the event.
What I didn’t know was the gentleman who said he would attend my event was the one from the Recreation Center. Only I didn’t know that until he showed up and we begin talking. Telling me again God was answering my Prayers.
I continued down the street where David, and I walked into a Mechanics shop. The owners didn’t speak much English, but they were so kind to David and I.
They even said they would stop by the event and bring me some flyers to hand out. I was so busy on Saturday that I had forgotten they were going to come by
As I was walking around the man and his wife came in and reintroduced themselves to me. They brought me some brochures and business cards to hand out and will try and come set up at the next event I host.
