Last night at the American Legion was the Soup, and Salad Dinner put on by The Ladies of Auxiliary Unit 655. I decided I wanted to attend as I love all kinds of Soup. I knew that I wanted to participate in the dinner with some friends. Since David was off last night, he would be able to watch Charlie for me. So for the first time in years, I had a “Girls Night Out at the American Legion.”
I had the most beautiful time ever even though my mother in law didn’t come like she was supposed to. Neither did my friend Adrienne who is Ed’s wife which would have allowed David and Ed to hang out together.
Louann Albright, my Avon Consultant, came by and I rode with her, and I had the best time ever. Just sitting and talking to her and getting to know her a little bit better. While brainstorming ways to build our Avon business.
Once we finished visiting, we talked to the members of the American Legion, and this made me feel like I am making some new friends which I need. Finding things Charlie and I can do together once we join the American Legion is a huge plus as it is close enough for us to walk.
Knowing David will be joining as well will be the best thing I can do for my family and it will allow me to support the American Legion as I had family in the service, and so did David. Along with David youngest daughter’s husband is in the Army.
If you haven’t had a chance to check into the American Legion, I would like to invite you to come out to Post #655 and check out all the fun things they do. Yes, there are things children can do as well. Such as Trunk or Treat for Halloween.
Don’t forget about the Craft Fair we will be hosting at the American Legion on October 8th from 11 until 4 pm. Have you ever wanted to take a Cruise check out there Facebook page as the American Legion is leaving on a Cruise on October 8th?
We are still looking for more Vendors and Business Owners to join us at our First Craft Fair. If you know of an organization that needs to earn some volunteer hours we will need help at the American Legion. Please contact me for more information at tminfo2012@gmail.com
Tonight at 6:30 is KAROAKE and a Fish Fry at 6:30 which I wanted to attend but being gone last night and going back up there next Friday I need to be at home with Charlie and David. Unless they go and hang out with there friends, then you might find me up at the American Legion. Or if some of my friends want to go, then I will go with them. But don’t worry I don’t plan on singing. Ever. But if Charlie goes with me, I am hoping he will as he loves singing.
In the meantime have a Blessed night tonight and a wonderful weekend. Make time to create some new memories with your friends and family come and share them with Charlie and I.
Thank you,
Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
