This morning I was up early so I could get ready to go look for garage sales with a friend. Before I got dressed I asked Charlie if he wanted to go with us as it was so early. Charlie surprised me when he got up and took a bath and got dressed to go with me without fussing.
Once Debbie picked us up at the park we started out to find signs leading us to garage sales. I felt like we was following the yellow brick road and the elusive garage sale. As there wasn’t anywhere and we went all over town and into different areas.
Once we had decided to call it a day and just go check out a Resale Store Debbie knew of. We took off into a area I didn’t know. As we was driving Debbie and I saw a sign that said Garage Sale. Since Charlie was sleeping in the back seat we decided to go on and check it out.
Once we got there we went inside after waking Charlie and asking him if he wanted to go in with us. Charlie said no, he would wait in the car. So Debbie and I got out and locked the door. Then we walked up to the driveway.
As we was looking around Debbie found a sign with her daughters name on it. Now you might say there is nothing special with a sign and a name on it. But that isn’t true as Karlee’s name is so unusual that you can’t find things with her name on it.
We asked the gentleman how much it was and Debbie left him know she would take it. As she was getting ready to pay for the sign he let us know there was more stuff on the inside. So Debbie and I ventured inside there front door.
As soon as I could see inside I came to a dead stop and all I could say was “OMG” as they had a full blooded Bull Dog. Which is what Charlie has always wanted. The lady says you can take a picture for your son.
When I let her know I was going to do better than that as I was going out to the car to get Charlie. So I went back outside and asked Charlie to come in with me as I had to show him something. Charlie asked me what and I said it was a surprise.
So we went on inside the house and before we even got into the hallway the Bull Dog Missie came walking up and Charlie dropped to his knees and gave her a hug and she started kissing him. The owners of the house let me know she doesn’t usually like people. So for her to do this to Charlie must mean he was a special person.
They even let Charlie feed Missie and gave Charlie a whole hand full of candy as he was so nice to Missie they said. Once we was ready to leave Charlie even asked them if the Bull Dog was for sale and they let him know she wasn’t. But that anytime until August 1st he could come back and see Missie.
So by fully relying on God today and allowing him to take us where he wanted us I was able to bring one of Charlie’s dreams to life. So I would like to thank Debbie for taking time out of her day to spend the morning with Charlie and I and having lunch with us at Poncho’s.
Thank you,
Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
