This is a review for the children’s book Freda the Frog Says Farewell to Her Fish I received a copy of in exchange for this review.
A couple months ago my dog Charlie passed away. I didn’t know what to say to Charlie as he hadn’t ever had to deal with a pet who passed away. Then a couple months later Charlie’s dog Lucy passed away and this was even hard to share with Charlie who had Lucy since be was born just like Sandi.
I wish I had knew about Freda the Frog Says Farewell to Her Fish before our dogs passed away. Although neither of our dis had been sick and we didn’t have a clue they were going to pass away. With Freda the Frog Says Farewell to Her Fish we would’ve been prepared which was quite a surprise.
I love how this book talks about children moving into a new neighborhood and making new friends. As we also moved into a new home. I wish I had thought about hosting a ceremony talking about our dogs before we moved as they were buried in our yard and we had to leave the.
Charlie and I’ve had fun this week talking about our dogs Sandi and Lucy. As well as visiting a Pet Store to learn more about Goldfish like Goldie and why a Fish would make a nice addition to our classroom. Charlie and I enjoyed discussing the questions in the back of the book and coloring the page and cutting out the bookmark to use in our Homeschool Reading Class.
There is four books in this series which I plan on purchasing for Charlie for Christmas. As well as my nice and nephew. Charlie even let me know we should check with the Library to see if they carry these books. If not were going to purchase them and donate the set to the children’s library so other children who’ve lost a pet will be comforted.
