The Mommies Reviews

Good evening, welcome to our Food Holidays: November 23rd, 2021. It’s National Espresso Day and it’s getting chilly outside so I may need a cup of Coffee or Hot Chocolate to warm up but not a Espresso but if that is what you prefer and you want to come visit I would be happy to get you a Espresso.

I have a question do you know what’s the difference between Espresso and plain Coffee? According to professional Baristas, it doesn’t really matter what kind of Coffee Bean you use, or how the Beans are roasted — it’s all in the way the Beans are brewed. Forcing pressurized Water through finely-ground Coffee Beans produces a concentrated brew with its signature delicate foam. This foam, or Crema, which is the proper name, contains concentrated Sugars and Oils from the Beans, adding a light sweetness that helps balance out the bitterness. Grab an Espresso on November 23rd to taste the difference for yourself!

Five facts to about Espresso:

It takes approximately 42 Coffee Beans to make an average serving of Espresso.

Did you know Coffee contains more Caffeine than Espresso. Strong tasting Coffee has no more Caffeine than weak-tasting Coffee.

Espresso is not referring to a particular type of Coffee Bean, it is a type of coffee brewing method.

Espresso originated in Italy in the early 20th Century with Luigi Bezzera, the owner of a manufacturing plant who wanted to speed up the time it took to make Coffee.

Coffee is the second most traded commodity in the world second to only Oil.

NATIONAL ESPRESSO DAY ACTIVITIES

  1. Learn the “4 Ms” of Espresso ie Italian lesson ahead: Remember to use a lot of molto Italiano hand gestures when saying these words: la macinazione — the correct, very fine grinding of the Coffee Beans la macchina — the Espresso machine itself la miscela — the Coffee blend, often a mixture of high-quality Brazilian Beans, but with many variations la mano — the skilled hand of the person making the Coffee
  2. Now that you know the proper terminology, if you’re on friendly terms with your Barista, ask if he or she will show you how the professionals make the perfect cup of Espresso. This might also be a great chance for a friend with a new Espresso Machine to show it off to you.
  3. Try popping a few Chocolate-covered Espresso Beans. If you like a subtle hint of Coffee flavor, try adding Espresso to a cup of Hot Chocolate for a Mocha Treat. Baker add a little Espresso Powder mixed into Chocolate Frosting amping up the sophistication level.

3 UNCOMMON WAYS TO USE ESPRESSO

  1. Espresso Powder or concentrated Coffee granules can be added to cake and cookie recipes, including Brownies and Chocolate Chip Cookies, for a Mocha flavor twist.
  2. Whether you’re making a simple Vinaigrette or a Meat Marinade mixture, Espresso Balsamic Vinegar will bring a rich profile to the table.
  3. One last Italian lesson: this dessert is a simple scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream “drowned” by pouring a shot of hot Espresso over it.

WHY WE LOVE NATIONAL ESPRESSO DAY

  1. Whether you like your Espresso Straight Up or blended into a Latté or Cappuccino, just a single shot can perk up even the slowest mover. Adding Espresso to a Chocolate Smoothie creates a Mocha pick-me-up in the afternoon, and Espresso makes the perfect after-dinner drink.
  2. One sip of steaming Hot Espresso, and we’re transported to an Italian Piazzo, surrounded by ancient cobblestones, weathered statues, cypress trees, and hundreds of years of history. Those tiny cups that Espresso is traditionally served in? They’re very trendy.
  3. Are you a Black Coffee person? If so then you should try a shot of Espresso instead. If you like your morning brew a little lighter, order a Latté. How about Espresso added to Hot Cocoa for a sophisticated Mocha drink?

Thank you,
