Why National Taffy Day?

As far as native sweets are concerned, Taffies has a history dating back to the late 19th Century. Taffy was discovered by accident when a Candy Shop on the shore of New Jersey was flooded with Salty Seawater. The Candies were soaked in Saltwater leading to the invention of the first-ever Saltwater Taffy. Taffy has since come a long way, finding its place in many stores, on Boardwalks, and the Eastern Seaboard regions. National Taffy Day is a day to celebrate these Candies and indulge in the goodness of the Taffies. It is a wonderful feeling to unwrap that wax paper and chew on Taffy, made with Sugar and Butter, and enjoy the pulling effect in your mouth.
