Good morning, how are you? I wanted to share our series celebrating Food Holidays: June, 2022. Did you know this month features National Candy Month and I don’t know about you but I can’t wait to celebrate this Holiday. Before you ask I know Charlie and David will also want to celebrate Candy.
National Candy Month
Gummy Bears, and Chocolate is perfect during June which is National Candy Month. You can eat all of the Candy you want. National Candy Month was started by the National Confectioner’s Association. According to National Confectioners Association, they’re “a trade association that advances, protects and promotes Chocolate, Candy, Gum and Mints”. This holiday celebrates the value Candy adds to our lives. Candy has been produced for over 100 years, which means you have a lot of catching up to do if you want to eat all the Candy.
NATIONAL CANDY MONTH ACTIVITIES
- Have you ever wondered which Candy reigns supreme? Then you should host a candy battle. Here’s how you do it: host a Candy party where you supply all your favorite brands of Candy. Have your friends show up and taste all the Candy and the candy that gets eaten the most is the winner!
- If you’ve been looked on Pinterest in the last year, you’ll know delicious Candy Sushi has been making the rounds. Long pieces of candy including Twizzlers can substitute for the Fish and Vegetable Strips in real Sushi, while Rice is replaced by Rice Krispies.
- Take your favorite Candy to a whole new level by making Candy at home! Start with Peanut Butter Cups, Kit Kats, and Chocolate Clusters.
WHY PEOPLE LOVE NATIONAL CANDY MONTH
- It’s the most delicious month of the year and I have a question for you who can argue with a whole month dedicated to eating Candy? Charie and I can’t. It doesn’t matter if you prefer Chocolate or Sour Candy, the world is your Oyster this month. Go wild with Candy this month because you can worry about cavities next month.
- Did you know that the Candy industry is worth $35 billion, and provides 55,000 jobs? Candy is a vital part of our economy! The National Confectioner’s Association, says many of the major Candy companies in America are actually family-owned.
- While everyone loves Candy, this holiday sends an important message everything in moderation. The NCA has worked hard to make Candy has accessible labeling, so that consumers know the amount of Sugar they’re consuming. Let this holiday be a reminder to indulge responsibly but know how much Sugar you’re consuming.
