Welcome to our series sharing National Baked Bean Month. I don’t know about you but I would love to have some Baked Beans this morning. Especially to celebrate my mom’s Birthday today. Would you like to join me for Baked Beans and what else would you like to have with the Baked Beans?
National Baked Bean Month
July recognizes National Baked Bean Month! It’s time to gather your recipes and prepare Baked Beans for dinner.
Baked Beans make an outstanding side dish all year round, but are a particular favorite dish to serve during BBBQ’s or Picnics. Home cooks quickly make up a batch to bring in Crock Pots, because Baked Beans compliment Summer meals. Do you need more reasons to try Baked Beans?
If so then you should know Baked Beans contain more fiber than many whole grains and are nearly fat-free. Beans are high in protein, too. From a nutrient standpoint, Beans are a terrific source of calcium, iron, folic acid, and potassium. Beans may also help reduce the risk of heart disease and some Cancers.
Depending on the type of Bean you bake, the nutrients and flavor vary. Most Baked Beans are made with Navy Beans in a sauce. However, Baked Beans can be made with Garbanzo or Pinto Beans or a combination. Which Bean do you use when preparing Baked Beans and why?
