Good morning, welcome to our series sharing Food Holidays: July 16th, 2021. I would like to ask you to check out the Holiday being celebrated today and let me know if and how you would like to celebrate today’s Holiday.
Its to bad David is working tomorrow or we could make Homemade Peach Ice Cream to celebrate the Holiday and share the Ice Cream with David’s dad who also loves Peaches.
Before you ask about me and Charlie neither of us like Peaches so when we would make Peach Ice Cream for David I would make Chocolate for Charlie and Vanilla for myself.
We could host a Ice Cream Party and invite your friends and family to come have Ice Cream with us. They could bring there favorite toppings so they could make Sundaes. Would you like to join us?
Did you know Peaches are a Summer fruit? Making Peach Ice Cream Day a way to celebrate Summer goodness while enjoying a cooling delicious dessert.
Did you know Peaches are native to China? They were taken to America by Spanish explorers in the 16th century. Commercial cultivation has made Peaches the second biggest Fruit crop in the US (after Apples).
Peach Ice Cream is generally only made during the Summer months and can be enjoyed in a Sundae, as an Ice-cream Cone, on top of slices of Peaches, or simply on its own in a dish. Peach Ice Cream doesn’t need sprinkles, sauces or toppings because these toppings can overpower the delicate flavour.
Celebrate Peach Ice Cream Day by making your own Peach Ice Cream in an Ice-cream maker. It’s easy to do and you can use big chunks of fresh Peaches, like the old-fashioned Ice-cream used to be. Be generous with your scoop!
