Welcome to our series sharing Food Holidays: April 7th, 2022. Today is National Coffee Cake Day and I know I’ve tasted one in the past, but it’s been so long ago that it is time to try a slice again. Would you like to have a slice of Coffee Cake with me? Before you ask yes, I can make Coffee although I think I will have a glass of Milk with my Coffee Cake.

This National Holiday is indeed very special. While the Coffee Cake is not made using Coffee, it is normally served with Coffee and has a characteristic little density and distant sweet taste. Most of the Coffee Cakes in Restaurants and food outlets today have a sweet and crunchy topping that is also crumby. The more traditional Coffee Cake is served at the same time when the British time Tea is served, or during the 3 pm Tea.
This amazing National Holiday provides enthusiasts with a chance to enjoy a cup of Coffee accompanied by an exceptional Coffee Cake. On the 7th of April, every year people from different parts of the world set aside some of their best recipes for the sake of this amazing delicacy. Coffee Cake achieves a heartwarming feeling credit to the homemade dessert that makes for a remarkable bonding session. It is the belief for many bakers today, Coffee Cakes are not easy to make. Every April 7th is National Beer Day. A time where we can raise a toast to the oldest and most venerable of all beverages. People have been making Beer for over 5,000 years. In fact, the oldest recorded recipe we know of is for Beer.

HISTORY OF NATIONAL BEER DAY
Beer is the world’s most widely consumed Alcoholic drink, which is easy to see why. Beer comes in hundreds of types, flavors, and proofs. People have been drinking Beer for thousands of years. Scientists have found evidence of Beer production dating to 7,000 BC. Ancient Mesopotamians wrote poems about Beer, and considered it proof of divine existence. The Ancient Egyptians used Beer in a number of religious ceremonies. In Medieval Europe, Monks made Beer their Monasteries, elevating the craft of brewing to an art form. Today, only Water and Tea are more widely consumed than beer. Over 35 billion gallons of Beer are produced worldwide per year.
National Beer Day celebrates the day in 1933 that the Cullen-Harrison Act was signed into law, reversing the prohibition on selling Beer in the United States. In 2009, a Virginian man named Justin Smith decided to commemorate this historic day and created his own unofficial National Beer Day. Since then, iNational Beer Day has been recognized by the State of Virginia, and unofficially by millions of Beer aficionados nationwide.
One of the best things about Beer is the sheer number of varieties that exist. IPAs, Pilsners, Stouts, Sours and the list goes on and on. In terms of Alcohol content, Beer usually ranges between 4-7% ABV, meaning you can sip a cold Beer on a hot Summer day without much worry of intoxication. Last but not least, Beer is sold in six-packs. You can share a Beer or two with friends!
