Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar

It’s Not Often I Can Spoil David although in the past month I have been able to surprise David twice. I had the opportunity to take David out to Outback Steakhouse a couple weeks ago. But he had to work, so I ended up going with Charlie and David’s mom which was nice, but it wasn’t the same as having David with us.

With my Birthday being on Friday I planned on us visiting Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar. God had different plans for us as Davids boss called and asked David to work. Although David surprised me when he told his boss he couldn’t come as we had family plans which he usually doesn’t do. He would go on to work no, matter what we had planned.

We all got up and Charlie asked if he had to go to his friends Aiden’s or if he could come with us, and neither David or I wanted to tell Charlie he couldn’t come so we all got up to go shopping to pick out new clothes to wear. Both my men looked so classy once dressed in there new outfits. We headed out to Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar and all the way there I “PRAYED” it would be okay for children to eat there.

On the way to Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar, we ended up getting lost twice with Charlie’s help we were able to get straightened out and get back on the road, and we was on time for our 5 o’clock reservation. If you plan on having dinner at Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar you need to know they do not open until 5 o’clock. Which was perfect for our family as this is the time we usually have dinner.

We walked in and all of us checked in, and the Hostess went above and beyond her job to make sure we were taken care of and happy to be there. I went to the restroom and I know it’s crazy but as soon as I saw there was a restroom for families I felt 100% better and I could breath. I  didn’t have to worry about Charlie being with us, and a few minutes later another family walked in with there children.

They asked if we would like to sit down near the bar and that was fine with all of us. Except I picked out one of the booths in a horseshoe shape as I thought they were so cute. Charlie wanted a table, but they were so high from the ground that I was afraid I couldn’t get in or out of them safely. Although the next time we go, I will try and sit at one of the tables for Charlie.

The Bartender arrived and took our drink orders, and there were so many to chose from that I had trouble picking something out. I finally picked a Screwdriver and David ordered a Beer. We were surprised as they didn’t have anything on draft although it was okay with David as he usually drinks his beer out of the can or bottle.

The bartender asked us if we would like some of the Bar Chips and since I thought Charlie and David would eat some of them, I asked him to bring us some. I thought the Bar Chips was fantastic and Charlie said they were OK. David didn’t try the bar Chips as he was saving room for his dinner he said.

Then we were asked if we were ready to move into the dining room or we could stay where we were. I wanted to see more of the dining room. I opted to move, and it’s a good thing I did as I left the Bar Chips behind, or I wouldn’t have been able to eat my dinner.

They seated us our waitress came out and went over the Wine Menu with us and how it works. Neither David or I wanted Wine so she took the Wine chart away after Charlie and I played around with it, a bit. Looking at all the different things on it and I can say using it would make ordering a glass or bottle of win much more easy.

Then our waitress comes out with some Parmesan Cheese Bread with two different kinds of butter for us to try. David and I tried out both types of butter. I don’t like Flavored Butters of any sort; I ate my bread plain. I enjoyed it a lot, and it had a yummy flavor. David thought both kinds of butter were tasty and wanted to know if we could purchase them to serve in our home. Charlie, he also tried the bread and said it was good and he wouldn’t mind having it again.

We looked through the menu, and they actually did have a children’s menu which also helped me breath easier. There was even food on it Charlie would eat, and it didn’t take Charlie long at all to decide on what he wanted. Which was Chicken Fingers and Shoestring Fries and they were so good as I snagged a few to taste.

For David and I, we both chose the PRIME RIB DINNER served with a trio of sauces. If you want to try the Prime Rib, it is only available on Sunday, and with it, a choice of salad, side dish, and dessert. I was torn between it and Filet Mignon. I wish I had ordered Filet Mignon so David and I each could have tried the other food but it’s okay as this means we need to go back so I can try it out.

Once our Prime Rib Dinners arrived, both David and I were surprised by the size they sent us. I knew I  wouldn’t be able to finish mine, but David finished his. He said it was so good that it is the only thing he will order when having dinner here. As for our Prime Rib, I ordered my Medium Well, and it was perfect for David mine wasn’t cooked enough which was my fault, not the cooks. I am sure if I had asked they would have recooked my Prime Rib but I didn’t want it to dry out, so I didn’t ask them. I just ate around the red part and was still full when I finished and had enough for David for lunch on Monday.

To go with our meal, we both picked out a Salad and Loaded Baked Potato. I loved the Modern Caesar Salad Dressing they had on the Salad. Also, I liked how they brought out our Baked Potatoes with the toppings on the side of the plate as we were able to add our toppings to the potato and put on as much as we wanted. We didn’t have to worry about the Cook putting too many toppings or not enough toppings on our Potatoes.

Once we finished out Main Courses we all chose a dessert as each of our meals came with one. Having a sweet with our meal was a nice feature as we didn’t have to share and everyone could decide what they liked. There wasn’t any arguing over what we would order, and I didn’t hear oh no, he ate more than I did.

David ordered the Blueberry Cheesecake, and he said it was the best he had ever had and it was just the right size. I know it must have been good because before I knew it, it was all gone. The CHEESECAKE was a classic new york style cheesecake with a graham cracker crust, served with blueberry sauce and white chocolate shavings

Charlie had a Hot Fudge Sundae, and he says the Ice cream was good. He just wished there was Hot Fudge Sauce which I am sure they would have brought us. I didn’t ask as Charlie didn’t need these items. Charlie also let me know he missed the nuts and whipped cream that usually comes on Sundaes. Charlie ate the Sundae, and Charlie told me it was good. Once done Charlie asked me if he could return and order another Sundae in the future.

The waitress was so kind when Charlie asked her if they had nuts that she brought Charlie some Pistachios but when he saw they had a tiny of green to them, he wouldn’t eat the Pistachios, but David did as he loves them.

I ordered the CHOCOLATE LAVA CAKE which is a rich chocolate cake with a molten center of Belgian chocolate, served with premium vanilla ice cream and chopped pistachios. It was so good that I could make a meal out of it and this dessert wasn’t too big that I couldn’t finish it all.

As we finished dinner, our waitress came up and explained a new program they were promoting called Dine Rewards with us and asked if we were signed up and I was able to tell her we were. She thanked us for coming out and asked if we were celebrating anything special and I mentioned the day before was my Birthday.

Before we left the restaurant, the managers stopped by my table and asked if we wanted to take anything home. All three of us said no, we were excellent and we appreciated the offer. Then she asked us to wait as she wanted to send us home with something. I am happy and excited because they gave us a box of Truffles which I can’t wait to try out. Which I hope to do with Charlie once he comes in from school today.

As you can see Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar was a perfect night out for our family and a new place for us to have dinner at when we are celebrating throughout the year.
