Times are new and it can be extra challenging for moms with Toddlers. At this age these kids are active and are easily bored, keeping them entertained can be a challenge. But thanks to shared online resources moms are finding ways to keep their toddlers busy, engaged and on schedule.
Many people are just starting to settle into a brand new normal amid the developing Coronavirus situation and a (still unknown) period of social isolation. Parents of kids everywhere are creating schedules, lesson plans and activities, to keep their kids busy and engaged – with help and guidance from their children’s school and teachers. But this is not the case for young children who aren’t yet in school, or who attend daycare or preschool. They have limited to no access to structured tools or online classes.
But thankfully some moms who have been ahead of the game and have done some social isolating with their toddlers already prepared some set schedule and activities to continually enhance play and learning for their toddlers without sacrificing their safety.
One such mom is Allysa Axelband Hassid she posted in her public Instagram page a link to the document on how to keep toddlers entertained completely with the schedule. This has gained her page some attention as moms across the world find the document very helpful. It has been shared and re-shared and has kept a lot of toddlers entertained and happy through this pandemic.
The document features streaming class options ranging from storytime to kids yoga – and true to her Cleveland roots, also includes a daily live stream from local children’s musician Jesse Jukebox.
Hassid holds masters degrees in both general education and education and taught for 14 years before becoming an occupied home mom when her daughter was born. She said she looked for options that would be useful and meaningful. Because these activities and classes will also help her manage the stress of filling her daughter’s day.
These kinds of resources made by a mom reduce the fear that what our child is doing or watching is not good for him or her. Also, as a mom, you can easily reach out and ask questions only moms can answer. Indeed, resources like this is a jewel in the time of this pandemic.
So, moms fret not! There are tons of resources out there to assist you. There are pages and communities you can reach out to in managing your toddler’s day to day activity. But be warned that what will work for others might not work for your child so you have to screen and choose because after all, you know your child best!
Just be resourceful and don’t stress yourself too much! Sometimes, all that it takes is for you to unleash the kid in you. You’ll be surprised how well your child will respond and how good you are at it. Don’t let this pandemic scare or frustrate you. You are a mom, and moms will always find ways!
Thank you,
