Finding Faith In The Field by Benjamin Duane Hylden (Author)
The LORD tells us he will not give us more than we can handle but after Suzzane was killed at 16 I wondered if that were true. No, parent should outlive there child. Life has moved on and in just a couple months Charlie will be 16. I’ve been freaking out that like Suzzane something may happen to Charlie and I couldn’t survive the death of another child.
Charlie will begin driving soon and reading Finding Faith In The Field brought all of my fears up again. Through the story I learned that no, matter what happens the LORD is going to take care of us. I believe every teenager should read the book with there parents. Because life change at the drop of a dime.
Finding Faith In The Field is an easy read that can be done in one sitting but you may want to grab some tissues. Ben did a excellent of allowing us to experience his miracle, and he brings us into his struggles of life after the accident. I enjoyed learning about Ben’s journey of finding his purpose in life through and beyond the accident.
Finding Faith In The Field grabs your heart right at the start and keeps you interested in what is going to happen after the accident. It. Ben writes from his heart and he doesn’t seem to hold back on his part in the accident. Finding Faith In The Field is a book I will be recommending to my son’s friends parents to read as a family.
Finding Faith In The Field shares the story of the love and faithfulness of Jesus Christ, and Ben’s friends and family, touching on depression, doubt, and death Charlie and I’ve dealt with more than once. As Charlie has been struggling with his faith I believe reading this novel will bring him back to God as we wait to learn more about Ben’s fashion line and his Bible Study which I wish was in Fort Wort, Texas so we could attend.
About the Book:
On a cold April day, Ben Hylden tried on his suit coat for the upcoming school prom, then sped toward nearby Park River, ND, for an appointment. Running late and driving too fast, he lost control of his car on ice, flipped the car and was thrown out the passenger’s door-plunging face first into an icy field. Ben’s face and body were crushed, along with his dreams of being a basketball star. As his battered body lay in the field, Ben’s life seemed to be coming to an end. However, it turned out to only be the beginning of a remarkable journey of faith that showed him glimpses of life beyond this world, and gave him a new perspective on what matters most.
About the author
My name is Benjamin Hylden and I am from Park River, North Dakota where I grew up on a dairy farm. I am 29 years old, but at the age of 16, I was in a near-death car accident, which brought me on an unforgettable journey of faith and recovery. Seven years later, I released my book, Finding Faith in the Field, to share the miracles, events, and experiences that changed my life and inspired me to write a book; and pursue a career as a public speaker. Recently, I have also founded a Christian clothing brand called ‘Purified.’ and a health company name ‘Purified Health’.
